The Indian Village of Chichen Itza, as seen in Sid Meier's Pirates! (2004).

Indian Village is a type of visitable place in Sid Meier's Pirates! (2004). They belong to the Indian Faction.

Indian Villages behave like Ports but they offer a very limited selection of services. Indian Villages cannot be attacked. Villages are led by the Chief.

Locating a Indian VillageEdit

Indian Villages are scattered around the Caribbean. They are visible on the Sailing Map but aren't as obivious as Ports, and the game does not offer a text pointing at their direction when close by. They will only appear on the World Map when the map is sufficiently zoomed in. Indian Villages names are colored green.

Special Item Rutters may be helpful in locating them.

ServicesEdit

Indian Villages offer the following services:

  • Talk to the Chief
  • Trade with the Chief

Talk to the Chief option has two possible results:

  • The Chief tells that they are tired of the presence of the Europeans, and asks the Player Character, which Port they should attack. One nearby Port of all four European Nations will be presented as an option, as well as the option to not attack any of them.
    • These war canoes provide a simple way to boost relations with all nations, which is useful when one wants access to Spain's ports.
  • If the player chose a Port for raiding before the War Canoes have reached their destination, or just after they have, the Chief will only tell that the ships have not returned yet.

Trading with the Chief is mostly useless, since Player cannot gain reputation as much as with European Nations and thus the Chief has less money to use, and little to sell. If one is there, it's worth looking as the chief frequently has very inexpensive Spices and Goods and Sugar tend to be very cheap in Indian Villages though. Cannons are not for sale, and they do not pay any money for them.
